The Elephant In Every Room I Enter is a strikingly intimate solo show about Gardiner Comfort's experience as an actor with Tourette's.

Featuring Gardiner Comfort and Directed by Kel Haney.




Gardiner Comfort (Co-Creator/Performer) is an actor and writer who was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome when he was 7.  The Elephant in Every Room I Enter was developed with Kel Haney in Mabou Mines’ Resident Artist Project. Summer Lee Jack (Costume Designer) is a Brooklyn based costume designer. Recent design credits include: Roméo et Juliette, The Classical Style, The Cows of Apollo, and Così fan tutte(Aspen Opera Theater Center), Das Land des Lächelns and A Little Night Music(Manhattan School of Music), Die Verschworenen/Die Winterreise(Hofstra Opera Theater), Carmen, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Eugene Onegin(Aspen Opera Theater Center). MFA in Design from the Yale School of Drama.

Caite Kemp (Co-Projection/Scenic Designer) New York: Triassic Parq, Soho Playhouse; Ugly Lies the Bone, Roundabout Underground; Tail! Katie Houff (Stage Manager) is a freelance stage manager based out of Brooklyn, NY.  She graduated from James Madison University in 2010 with a BA in Dance and for the past six summers has served as Production Stage Manager at the American Dance Festival in Durham, NC. She works regularly with Jody Oberfelder Projects, Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance, and Shen Wei Dance Arts.

Elisheba Ittoop (Sound Design) Her designs and original music have been heard at The Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, Women’s Project, National Gallery of Art, Woolly Mammoth, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, Bonnaroo Music Festival, and the Center for Puppetry Arts. Education: NYU, North Carolina School of the Arts.  For Alan.

Whitney Biancur (Associate Producer) is a Brooklyn based actress, recently in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Gallery Players), ROMEO AND JULIET (Snow Falcon), MONKEY (La MaMa) & KINGS COUNTY: S2E3 (Hovering Giraffe.)  Training: BADA, Pearl Conservatory, ESPA, & Sarah Lawrence College. She's worked for The Westport Country Playhouse, Long Wharf Theatre, & Pan Asian Repertory. @WhitneyBiancur

Dan Safer (Choreographer) is the Artistic Director of Witness Relocation, an NYC-based dance/theater company, and works as a freelance director and choreographer. Many thanks to Gardiner and Kel for the opportunity to be a part of this production.
